With almost 1500 horsepower from just 1995 cc, the KTM Dragster does the quarter mile in 6.7 seconds at a terminal velocity of 316 kmh. Helping tame the KTM’s (barely) controlled explosion is a brace of “bomb proof” Renishaw RM22 compact, high-speed rotary magnetic encoders.

REVO™ gains momentum

The revolutionary Renishaw REVO™ five-axis measuring head and probe system is being made available commercially.  Two recent applications have highlighted user experience of dramatic step-changes in cycle-time performance.  The measurement of an aero-engine blade was reduced to 4 minutes and 30 seconds from 46 minutes, a 922% improvement, while in an automotive cylinder head application inspection was reduced from 29 minutes and 13 seconds to 3 minutes and 42 seconds. Calibration service provider works faster & smarter to create more revenue

He’s not an athlete, but Jürgen Emslander has, in one move, considerably improved his performance, to be way ahead of the rest of his field.  He runs a calibration service company called Geo Tec Messtechnik, and has recently upgraded his laser calibration system from the industry standard ML10 to the new Renishaw XL-80. The new system’s portability and ease of use minimises transportation and set-up times, allowing more jobs each month.  Read more about Geo Tec
